Air conditioning installation for homes, bedrooms, conservatories and businesses

Proper AC installation starts with the room, not the catalogue. We size the system, plan the route and specify equipment around comfort, noise, access and long-term serviceability.

Overview

Practical air conditioning installation, specified around the room.

Air conditioning installation goes wrong when the system is chosen before the room is understood. A sunny bedroom, a glass conservatory, an office with IT load and a shop with open doors all need different output, airflow and external-unit planning.

We install fixed split and multi-split AC for homes, conservatories, bedrooms, loft rooms, garden rooms, offices, shops, salons, clinics, hospitality rooms and technical spaces across Lancashire and the wider North.

The quote checks heat gain, pipe route, condensate drainage, electrics, sound, visual finish, controls and future servicing. That is how we avoid over-selling a unit that looks impressive on paper but feels wrong in the room.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Room load and output

We look at room volume, glazing, insulation, roof type, occupancy and equipment heat before choosing output. Conservatories and open-plan rooms often need more capacity than a bedroom of the same floor area.

Indoor unit position

The indoor unit has to move air across the space without blowing directly on beds, desks, dining seats or treatment chairs. The neatest wall is not always the best airflow position.

Outdoor-unit route

We plan where the condenser can sit, how pipework exits, how condensate drains and how the engineer will reach the unit for future service. This matters just as much as the indoor finish.

Controls and aftercare

Wi-Fi control, timers, user permissions, maintenance access and filter cleaning are discussed before installation so the system stays easy to live with after handover.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Single hot bedroom

A standard bedroom normally needs a quiet 2.5kW to 3.5kW wall unit, careful airflow away from the bed and an outdoor position that will not annoy neighbours at night.

Glass-heavy conservatory

A conservatory needs a higher heat-gain allowance, careful wall positioning and a system that can deal with summer solar gain without becoming noisy or oversized.

Small business premises

An office, salon or shop is surveyed around people, equipment, trading hours, door openings and maintenance access rather than treated like a domestic lounge.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Whether the room is a bedroom, standard room, conservatory, open-plan space or commercial room.
  • Indoor and outdoor wall distance, lift access, scaffold needs and pipe-route complexity.
  • Choice of standard wall unit, designer unit, floor unit, cassette, concealed or ducted system.
  • Electrical supply, condensate pump needs and whether the job is single-room or multi-room.
  • Any planning, leasehold, conservation-area or landlord requirements before work starts.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

What is included in an AC installation quote?

A proper quote should cover the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipework, brackets or base, condensate route, electrical connection, commissioning and handover. If access, wiring or planning permissions are unusual, those should be stated clearly before work starts.

Can one air conditioner cool several rooms?

Sometimes, but it is rarely the best answer for bedrooms. A hallway unit often cools the hallway before the rooms that need comfort. Multi-split systems usually give better room-by-room control.

Which brands do you install?

We usually specify Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Toshiba, Fujitsu, LG and Worcester Bosch AC. We choose by room, sound level, output, warranty, controls and service access rather than pushing one manufacturer on every job.

How much does air conditioning installation usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
