Overview

Practical cafe air conditioning, specified around the room.

Cafes often combine compact rooms, hot equipment, open doors and customers sitting close to the counter. The heat source is not evenly spread across the space.

We install AC in cafes, coffee shops, bakeries, sandwich shops, small tearooms and daytime hospitality spaces.

The quote checks counter heat, seating layout, door movement, glass, ceiling type, customer comfort, outdoor-unit route and maintenance access.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Counter heat

Coffee machines, ovens, fridges and dishwashers add heat near staff. Output is checked around those loads.

Customer seating

Airflow should not blow directly onto customers sitting for long periods or onto food display areas.

Door movement

Frequent door opening changes the load and can make the front of the cafe harder to control.

Compact install route

Many cafes have limited back-of-house space, so pipe routes and outdoor positions need careful planning.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Small coffee shop

Usually a compact wall or cassette system positioned to help both counter staff and customer seating.

Bakery cafe

Oven and display heat need to be included in the survey rather than treated as a normal retail room.

Cafe with street-facing glass

Solar gain at the shopfront often changes the output and airflow requirement.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Coffee machine, oven and refrigeration heat.
  • Door openings and shopfront glazing.
  • Wall or ceiling unit choice.
  • Out-of-hours access for installation.
  • Maintenance frequency due to hospitality use.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

Can AC cope with coffee machine heat?

Yes, if that heat is included in the sizing. We do not treat cafes as empty rooms because equipment heat is constant.

Can you install AC outside cafe opening hours?

Often yes. We plan noisy work, drilling and commissioning around your trading pattern where practical.

Do cafes need more frequent servicing?

They may. Food service environments can put more grease and dust into filters, so routine cleaning and servicing are important.

How much does cafe air conditioning usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
