Ceiling cassette air conditioning for offices, shops and salons

Ceiling cassettes give strong, even air distribution in commercial rooms with suitable ceiling space. The ceiling and drainage route decide whether they are right.

Overview

Practical ceiling cassette air conditioning, specified around the room.

A cassette can be a clean commercial option, but it needs ceiling void depth, safe fixing, condensate drainage and service access. Without those, a wall or ceiling-suspended unit may be better.

We install cassette AC in offices, shops, salons, clinics, restaurants, classrooms and commercial rooms with suspended ceilings or suitable ceiling voids.

The quote checks ceiling grid, joists, void depth, drainage, pump route, air throw, floor layout, service access and whether one cassette or multiple zones are needed.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Ceiling structure

The ceiling must be able to accept the cassette and allow safe support, pipework, electrics and maintenance access.

Condensate route

Cassettes often use pumps. The drain route must be reliable and accessible because water faults are disruptive in commercial spaces.

Air distribution

Four-way airflow can work well in open rooms but may not suit small partitioned spaces or seating directly under the cassette.

Service access

Filters and panels need to be reachable without disrupting the whole business each time the unit is serviced.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Open-plan office

One or more cassettes can spread air across desks if the ceiling grid, occupancy and screen heat are surveyed properly.

Salon or clinic

Cassettes keep wall space free, but airflow must avoid treatment chairs, mirrors and reception desks.

Retail unit

Useful for even customer comfort where shopfront glazing and lighting create heat across the sales floor.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Ceiling type, void depth and structural support.
  • Condensate pump and drain route.
  • Number of cassettes and room zoning.
  • Working height, access equipment and installation timing.
  • Controls, maintenance access and business disruption.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

Do ceiling cassettes need a suspended ceiling?

They usually need a suitable ceiling void or suspended ceiling system. Some rooms can use alternatives, but the ceiling must be surveyed.

Are cassettes good for offices?

Yes where the space is reasonably open and the ceiling allows it. They can distribute air evenly across desks without taking wall space.

Can cassettes be used at home?

Sometimes, especially in renovations with ceiling voids, but they are more common in commercial rooms. Many homes suit wall, floor or ducted options better.

How much does ceiling cassette air conditioning usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
