Commercial air conditioning

Commercial air conditioning installation for offices, shops and specialist rooms

Commercial AC has to work around people, opening hours, equipment heat, maintenance access and compliance. We design the route before we recommend the system.

Overview

Practical commercial air conditioning installation, specified around the room.

A commercial room can feel hot for different reasons: staff and customers, display lighting, IT equipment, kitchen heat, treatment-room equipment, poor ventilation or a shopfront that catches afternoon sun.

We install AC for offices, retail units, salons, clinics, hospitality rooms, server rooms, staff rooms, workshops and light commercial premises across Lancashire and the North.

The survey looks at occupancy, working hours, heat load, ceiling type, landlord constraints, outdoor-unit siting, safe access and how to install with minimal disruption to trade.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Occupancy and heat load

People, screens, lighting, refrigeration, cooking equipment and treatment equipment can create more heat than the floor area suggests.

Ceiling and unit type

Suspended ceilings may suit cassettes. Solid ceilings or narrow rooms may suit wall or ceiling-suspended units. Larger premises may need multi-split or VRF planning.

Business disruption

We plan phasing, access, isolation, dust control and out-of-hours work where needed so the installation does not damage trading time.

Maintenance route

Commercial systems need accessible filters, drains and outdoor units. A hidden system that cannot be serviced properly becomes expensive later.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Small office suite

Usually a wall or cassette system zoned around desks and meeting rooms, with attention to screen heat, low sound and simple controls for staff.

Retail or salon space

Often needs good air spread across customers and staff without draughts at tills, mirrors, treatment chairs or waiting areas.

Technical or server room

Specified around continuous heat load, duty, drainage safety and service access rather than comfort alone.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Opening hours and whether installation needs out-of-hours attendance.
  • Number of indoor zones and whether a single split, multi-split, cassette, ducted or VRF system is suitable.
  • Ceiling type, outdoor-unit position, working height and access equipment.
  • Heat from people, equipment, lighting, refrigeration or catering.
  • Landlord consent, planning, noise, maintenance and warranty requirements.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

Can you install AC while the business stays open?

Often yes, but it depends on the room, wiring, drilling route and working height. For customer-facing rooms we normally plan noisy or dusty work outside trading hours.

Do commercial systems need servicing?

Yes. Commercial systems should be serviced routinely to protect performance, warranty and hygiene. Filter condition, coils, drains, refrigerant performance and controls all matter.

Can you design AC for several rooms?

Yes. We can specify single splits, multi-splits, cassettes, ducted systems and VRF/VRV-style systems depending on the building size and zoning requirement.

How much does commercial air conditioning installation usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
