Single room air conditioning for the room that causes the problem

A single-room install is often the cleanest answer: one indoor unit, one outdoor unit, properly sized for the space that needs comfort.

Overview

Practical single room air conditioning, specified around the room.

Many customers do not need a whole-house system. They need one room solved properly: the bedroom, loft, conservatory, office, living room or garden room that is uncomfortable at the wrong time of day.

We install fixed single-split AC in domestic rooms and smaller commercial spaces where one indoor unit and one outdoor unit is the right level of work.

The quote checks output, wall position, pipe route, drainage, electrics, outdoor siting and whether the room might later form part of a multi-room plan.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Correct output

A bedroom and a conservatory may both be single-room jobs, but they are not the same specification. Output follows heat gain and use.

Indoor placement

The unit needs a clean wall position and good airflow without blowing directly at beds, desks or seating.

Simple external route

The neatest single-room installs usually have a short route from indoor unit to outdoor unit with gravity drainage where possible.

Future proofing

If another room is likely later, we discuss whether a single split now or a planned multi-split route makes more sense.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Main bedroom

A quiet wall-mounted unit with low fan speed and careful outdoor positioning for night use.

Garden office

A compact fixed system with heating mode, Wi-Fi control and a tidy route through the garden-room wall.

Conservatory

A higher-output single-room system where glazing and roof type drive the specification.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Room type and output class.
  • Indoor-unit finish and brand choice.
  • Pipe length, drainage and outdoor-unit position.
  • Electrical connection and access.
  • Whether the room is straightforward or complex.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

What is a single-split AC system?

It is one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. It is the most common fixed AC route for one bedroom, office, conservatory or living space.

How long does a single-room install take?

Many straightforward single-room installations can be completed in a day, subject to access, electrics, route and survey confirmation.

Can a single-room system be moved later?

It is possible in some cases, but it is not ideal to treat AC as portable. The pipework, electrics and outdoor unit are installed as a fixed system.

How much does single room air conditioning usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
