Replacement and aftercare

Air conditioning repairs and fault finding for domestic and commercial systems

AC repair starts with diagnosis. We check the fault, the system age, parts availability and whether repair or replacement is the sensible route.

Overview

Practical air conditioning repairs, specified around the room.

Common AC faults include weak cooling, water leaks, blocked drains, poor airflow, error codes, unusual noise, failed controls and systems that trip electrics.

We repair and diagnose domestic and commercial AC in homes, bedrooms, conservatories, offices, shops, salons, server rooms and older installations where parts remain available.

The visit checks brand, model, age, fault history, service condition, filters, drains, controls, outdoor unit, error codes and whether refrigerant or electrical diagnosis is required.

Specification

The details that decide whether the installation works properly.

Fault history

When the fault started, how often it happens and whether there are error codes helps narrow the diagnosis.

Basic causes first

Filters, airflow, drains, remotes and power issues are checked before assuming a major component failure.

Parts availability

Older systems may be repairable, but parts cost and lead time can make replacement more sensible.

Compliance

Refrigerant work must be handled by properly certified engineers and recorded correctly.

Typical jobs

Common installation patterns we plan for.

These are typology notes rather than claimed job records: they show the kind of practical thinking used before we recommend a system.

Water leak from indoor unit

Often linked to blocked drains, pumps or installation route. The inspection checks the water path before parts are blamed.

Weak cooling

Can be caused by filters, coils, fan issues, refrigerant problems or incorrect settings. Diagnosis is staged.

Old system with repeated faults

Repair may still be possible, but replacement can be better if parts are scarce or the system is inefficient.

Quote guidance

What decides whether the fixed quote can proceed.

The quote route starts with postcode coverage, then checks the room, access, outdoor-unit position, electrics and installation route. Straightforward single-split systems can go through the fixed-price builder; complex rooms, commercial spaces and multi-room work may need a survey before the final scope is confirmed.

  • Brand, model, age and access to fault codes.
  • Whether the issue is drainage, electrical, airflow, control or refrigerant related.
  • Parts availability and manufacturer support.
  • Access to indoor and outdoor units.
  • Whether replacement is better value than repair.

Benefits

What customers usually want from this installation.

Reliable cooling

Bring the room back under control during warm weather, busy trading periods or high internal heat loads.

AC heating mode

Use the same fixed AC system for useful air-to-air heating when the weather turns colder. We do not install wet central-heating systems.

Neat installation

Plan the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe route and condensate route before installation starts.

Long-term efficiency

Choose inverter technology, good controls and routine maintenance to keep performance strong.

FAQs

Questions customers ask before they book.

Can you repair any brand of AC?

We can assess many systems, but parts availability and technical support vary by brand and age. We will advise if the system is not economical to repair.

Why is my AC leaking water?

Common causes include blocked drains, failed pumps, dirty filters, poor fall on pipework or frozen coils. The cause needs diagnosing rather than guessing.

Why is my AC not cooling properly?

It could be dirty filters, blocked coils, incorrect settings, fan problems, refrigerant issues or undersizing. A proper fault check works through the likely causes.

How much does air conditioning repairs usually cost?

The guide price depends on room size, output, pipe route, outdoor-unit position, electrics and finish. A straightforward bedroom or standard room install usually starts from GBP 1,950, conservatories and larger open-plan rooms usually start from GBP 2,450, and two-room multi-split work usually starts from GBP 3,800.

Do you install wet heat pump systems?

No. We install fixed air conditioning systems. Many AC units can provide useful air-to-air heating mode from the indoor unit, but we do not install wet central-heating heat pumps, radiators, cylinders or underfloor heating systems.
